- about
- Over the past eight years, I've been blessed to be surrounded by artists of all kinds - poets, musicians, painters, etc. who truly believe in the act of creation as a means to encourage, uplift, edify, and unite. After meeting friends like Theory Hazit and the CSN crew (Matthew Ronan, Illete aka Urlybyrd, Nebula the DSR, and Phayth the Wordsmith), I felt a strong calling to create, collaborating with many local artists and eventually becoming a Scribbling Idiot. Soon after, we formed a local crew named the Mic Cause; myself, Theory Hazit, the CSN cats, the Tryed One, Homage, Mouf Warren, Flip 46 (Scott Williams), and Donnybrook, collaborating on numerous songs over a couple year stretch. Most of those songs never saw the light of day, but it became evident that the fellowship and the friendship were the true reasons for our endeavors.
Eventually, people moved from Cincinnati and life changed in sometimes drastic ways. Matthew and his wife Chastidy moved to San Francisco. Theory moved to Portland. Many of the others married or had children, or pursued college degrees. Before leaving for S.F., I asked Matthew if he wanted to pursue a project where we would use samples he might like, produced by Theory and myself. Over the next couple years, we worked on tracks while I toured, lived with the Ronan's, and created other music. Eventually, we decided to finish our music As Is, as a testament to the homies - in faith and love, we found friendship that will last our lives, and in the same manner, we created memories that were worthy of sharing. Please enjoy our good times - As Is.
